beehive

the mormons have something to do with beehives.  i'm not sure if it is because they hauled bees with them as they trekked across the country, looking for somewhere they could live their idea of humanity out in peace.  i wonder if that was the case, how did the bees know to come back to the hives when it traveled however many miles a day?
